We are excited to bring an alternative educational option to Northeast Columbia. VCA is a K-12 university structured hybrid school. We aim to partner with parents to provide our students with a Christ-centered education at an affordable cost.
Two years ago during my quiet time, I was reading in Matthew about Jesus walking on water. God had been preparing my heart, but it was at this time that I felt God call me to step out in faith and start a hybrid school in the Northeast.
The last two years have been a journey of faith. As I have planned and researched, God has revealed His plan for VCA. Although scary at times, each step was clearly laid out before me. Much to my surprise, it wasn’t the steps of faith that were the scariest, but it was the periods of waiting that required me to lean into God the most so that He could fill me with His peace and His reassurance that we were moving in the right direction.
There were times that this journey was lonely, and I remember telling God that I felt like Noah. God had given me these big plans to build this boat of a school, but I didn’t know who He wanted to be involved, what families would attend, or what teachers would teach. However, I told God that I would continue to move forward in faith because I trusted that just like He brought the animals to Noah, He would bring the administrators, the teachers, the students and families to VCA. It has truly been amazing to witness God calling His people to VCA!
One of my favorite God stories through this process is how we became VCA. God’s timing is perfect, and it was during this same time that God was also working in the heart of my pastor, Erik Estep, to take a step toward Christian education. It was in God’s perfect timing that He brought these two plans together. We desire to equip our students with a Christ-centered education, to challenge our students to grow in their faith and in Christ-like character, and to develop Godly leaders that can go out into our community and the world and make a difference for Christ. With hearts aligned to the same call and mission, we decided to open VCA.
God is faithful, and I can testify that when God calls you, He equips you!
In the song Build a Boat by Colton Dixon it says,
“I’ll build a boat in the sand where they say it never rains.
I will step out in faith. I’ll do anything it takes.
Cause Your wind in my sail; Your love never fails or fades.
I’ll build a boat so let it rain!
How is God calling you to step out in faith? We hope you will come aboard and join us at VCA!
Message from the pastor of Village Church Pastor
I am looking forward, with anticipation, to the launch of Village Christian Academy! A school was something I never envisioned for VillageChurch, but over the last few years I have become convinced we’ve been called to provide an educational alternative to our church family and our community. Parents need a place where they can be confident their children will be well educated and taught from a biblical perspective. Village Christian Academy will be that place
