Our teachers keep Jesus at the center of all our core curriculum subjects throughout the instructional day. Our goal is that students will develop a Biblical worldview by which they see the entire world around them.
Our elementary school is comprised of students in Kindergarten through
5th Grade.
VCA’s elementary program aims to create an environment which develops a true love for learning. Our curriculum choices are faith based, and our students learn through inquiry and hands-on exploration while participating in individual and group activities. Village Christian Academy provides a report of student progress two times per year for all elementary students. K-2 student’s standards based report card includes information regarding content mastery and academic development based on grade level goals. Students are measured on the following scale: Emergent, Developing, and Proficient.
A traditional ten point grading scale is used to assess 3rd- 5th grade students’ understanding of content in all core classes. Number grades are reflected through assignments, projects, and assessments that reflect the student’s cumulative content understanding. Students are measured on the following scale: Emergent, Developing, and Proficient in all elective courses.
Our middle school is comprised of students in 6th through 8th Grade.
As middle school students transition from childhood to adulthood, we know that each student possesses God-given talents and abilities. The administration and staff at VCA take great care to treat each student with respect–celebrating their individuality, requiring accountability, and encouraging each student to reach their maximum potential. At VCA, we help our middle school students navigate the unique and often challenging social and developmental dynamics that accompany adolescents through Biblical-based conflict resolution, open communication and intentionality.
Middle school courses are taught by subject area experts that engage students in collaborative learning experiences and develop important communication, time management and organizational skills in preparation for the high school years.Our curriculum is faith based, and teachers use hands-on and interactive experiences to engage all types of learners, whether the learners are more visual or kinesthetic or they learn better while listening or writing, our classes are designed with all students in mind. Students collaborate to solve problems and practice new strategies.
Parents are still actively involved in their child’s education, although The role of parents transitions from a co-teacher to a guide for dependent study.

VCA’s High School program is designed to help the next generation of students identify and cultivate their God-given gifts so they can engage with the world as equipped Christ-followers, transforming it through the Holy Spirit.
In high school, VCA students learn to think critically and problem solve through participating in collaborative learning. Students experience more ownership in their learning while developing a greater sense of responsibility and independence. Students develop important time management, organizational, and communication skills necessary for college and life.
Parents are still actively involved in their child’s education, although the role of parents transitions from a guide for dependent study to a guide for independent study as students develop academic independence.
Number grades are earned through assignments, projects, and assessments that reflect the student’s cumulative content understanding. All high school courses, both core and electives, receive grades. Students earn an additional .5 quality point towards their GPA for Honors courses and an additional 1 quality point towards their GPA for each Advanced Placement/Dual Enrollment courses they enroll in.
